Quality & Testing Process

At Legend Tone, we go through multiple rounds of quality control and testing to ensure your product not only sounds great, but is free of buzzing, humming and other crackling.

How do we accomplish this?

This process all starts in the build processes. We start with the highest quality components - from today's leading brands. This includes CTS, Switchcraft, Oak Grigsby, Sprague and more.

As we assemble each specific wiring harness, we take great care and pride to shrink wrap each critical point that can lead to buzzing or hum. We further ensure the layout of our harnesses are designed in a manner to reduce these common failure points.

Once assembled, the wiring harnesses and products go through a multi-step process to test each component.

Assembly QA: Harnesses go through an assembly check to make sure all components, specifications and layouts are 100% accurate. This is completed by our experienced electronics technicians.

Multimeter: Our electronics technicians verify all voltage values and specifications using multimeters and other equipment - depending on the product. This makes sure all connections and voltages are correct and to guitar/customer specifications.

Sound Tests: We connect each harness to our proprietary test station, allowing us to audibly test each one for tone and quality. This step is crucial as it allows us to hear all components working together and the final sound output. This station also gives us the ability to perform this process using many different pickups for complete validation (humbuckers, single coils, lipsticks.) This step is our final validation, before the wiring harnesses leaves our shop.
